Dr. Hussein K. Abdel-Aal is a professor of Chemical Engineering & Petroleum Refining -Professor Emeritus: King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) Dhahran, Saudi Arabia & National Research Center (NRC), Cairo, Egypt. Professor Abdel-Aal received his M.S. and Ph.D. in chemical engineering (1962 and 1965 respectively) from Texas A & M University. He has more than 45 years of professional experience in the oil industry, academic and applied research, and teaching. He was a faculty member of the the Chemical Engineering Department at KFUPM, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia (1971 –1998) and head of dept (1972-74); Visiting Professor with the Chemical Engineering Department, Texas A & M University (1980-1981); and Head of Solar Energy Department, NRC, Cairo (1987-1988). Professor Abdel-Aal has contributed to over 70 published technical papers and articles on petroleum processing, separation & economics; water desalination; hydrogen energy and pollution control and others and is the editor of one book on Petroleum Economics & Engineering, published by Marcel Dekker, 1992, the author of a text entitled Surface Petroleum Operations, published by the Saudi Publishing & Distributing House, 1998, and co-author of a textbook on Petroleum & Gas Field Processing, published by Marcel Dekker, 2003. He is listed in "Who is Who in the World" 1982, member of AIChE, Sigma Si, Phi Lambda Upsilon. Dr. Abdel-Aal is a founding member, and a member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Hydrogen Energy, member of the AIChE. He serves on the editorial board of the "Int. J. Hydrogen Energy" and "Perspectives in Energy". In the field of training programs and short courses, Prof Abdel-Aal has contributed in the design and offering of many programs in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Libya.
