Improving SOFC Performance for a Future in Viable Energy: With contributions from international scientists active in SOFC research, this volume provides state-of-the-art information for the selection and development of materials for improved SOFC performance. It describes current materials, future advances in materials, and significant technical problems that remain unresolved. The book covers electrolytes, anodes, and cathodes as well as interconnects and sealants, which are two supporting components of the fuel cell stack. Addressing essential issues involved in materials processing for SOFC applications, such as the microstructure of the component layers and the processing methods used to fabricate the microstructure, this volume will soon become a valued addition to any chemical engineer's library. crcpress.com

Hydrogen Energy
Paul Ekins
How - and whether - hydrogen might contribute to a sustainable energy economy is one of the great imponderables of energy policy. The outcome depends on improving technological performance, lowering costs, gaining public acceptance and above all engineering systemic change. Don't look to this book - or any other book - for a prediction of the future. But if you want this complex problem untangled look no further. This book will tell you all you need to know about what we don't know. - Professor Jim Skea, Research Director, UK Energy Research Centre

Interaction of Elements with Hydrogen and with Each Other
D.V. Schur, S. Yu Zaginaichenko, A. Veziroglu, T.N. Veziroglu and others
The periodic system of chemical elements of Mendeleyev is supplemented with data, which allow using it as an encyclopedic reference book. In addition to the information usually present in such tables, information is provided on the hydrogen compounds formed by each element. In addition, it allows you to quickly find the answer to the question with which chemical element the chemical element under investigation interacts and how. Each cell in this table contains a large amount of information obtained from the analysis of many reference books and monographs. The table will be useful not only for scientists working with hydrogen, but for all materials of scientists, chemists and physicists.
Hydrogen in Crystals
Z.A. Matysina, S.Yu. Zaginaychenko, D.V. Shchur, A. Veziroglu, T.N. Veziroglu, and others
The work is devoted to a theoretical study of phase transformations in metal hydrides having a different crystal structure, as well as to an experimental study of their hydrogen capacity. The solubility of interstitial elements, which can be hydrogen, nitrogen, boron and carbon in alloys, are calculated. Isotherms, isobars, isoplets, isosters of the solubility of the interstitial elements, as well as the mutual influence on the solubility of various interstitial elements have been studied. Comparison of the results of calculations with experimental data showed their qualitative agreement.Practical use of metal hydride systems is shown. Solar Hydrogen: The Ultimate Solution to Prevent more Climate Change
C. E. (Sandy) Thomas, Ph.D.
This book describes one bold new approach to achieve the 2050 GHG reduction goal by using solar photovoltaic energy to generate hydrogen gas as the main energy carrier for the transportation system and the main energy storage mechanism to smooth out renewable electricity fluctuations over time, which would eliminate all GHG emissions from generating electricity. We show that such Solar-Hydrogen Energy Systems (SHES) will be affordable without any government support. Private industry can make a robust return on their investments in SHES’s.
