Biography of Vitrell Sherif, Journal Associate Editor Assistant
Vitrell Sherif

Vitrell is currently working for the University of Florida as the Laboratory Manager for six research laboratories in the biological sciences.  These laboratories include sponsored research by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute;  genetics research and global education of the ecological sciences by the Arthur R. Marshall, Jr., Ecological Sciences laboratory.
With over 15 years of administrative experience she has functioned as an Editorial Assistant to the ISES journal Solar Energy; as an Administrative Assistant to the University of Florida’s NASA hydrogen grant Principal Investigator; and as a conference organizer for the NASA Hydrogen Final Review Meeting which was held at the University of Florida from August 12-15, 2003. During that meeting, she was highly praised by NASA officials for excellent management and coordination of the meeting. Prior to joining the University of Florida, Vitrell worked as a Staff Manager and Marketing Coordinator.
Vitrell has been dedicated to humanitarian efforts by involvement in fund raising and food drives. One of these efforts coordinated in conjunction with other University divisions produced over 3,500 pounds of non-perishable food and supplies for the Hurricane Katrina disaster victims on the American southern Gulf Coast.
Among many other things, Vitrell is a strong environmental supporter and advocate of renewable energy and its role in the future of mankind and the environment..
